How to make homemade pizza sauce
To make your own pizza sauce from scratch, open a can of diced tomatoes (any brand will do), and pour into a blender. Blend until smooth, than spoon onto a pizza. It is fabulous, and costs less than 1/2 what sauce costs at the store!

Yum - sounds like a great idea. Wish I'd thought of it a long time ago.

I've always wanted to make my own pizza sauce. Can someone suggest some additional ingredients to spice it up a bit?

i agree with merita. this would be pretty flavorless without seasonings. Here is a basic pizza sauce recipe from about.com * 1 clove garlic, mashed and minced * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste * 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce * 1/2 teaspoon sugar * 1/8 teaspoon pepper * 1/2 teaspoon oregano * 1 tablespoon olive oil * dash red pepper, optional
