This makes no sense. Switching to a larger font size doesn't increase the speed of your work or the length of your work. It simply means you used a larger font and double spaced. And if you're typing something for publication or even school work, they go by word count, NOT by page count.
If this was meant as a joke, sorry.

I think what they meant was it encourages you to work towards filling up the page. I once had a prof who wanted papers typed in size 10 font. I forgot to change the font size back and typed a two page paper in size ten. When I realized what I'd done, I switched it back: 1pg./single sp./10ft=about 3pg/double sp./12ft. I did it intentionally on another paper and wound up "tricking" myself into getting a required length faster.

I am OCD about a writer using "your" when they mean you're. I suppose it is the teacher in me, and I know I make errors if I am in a hurry. I think perhaps the website should edit those errors...
