Try mixing one tablespoon of liquid dish soap to one gallon of tap water.  Mix well and saturate your plant. Do this in the sink or outdoors to avoid a mess.  If the water pools at the top, use a fork to poke holes all through the top layer of dirt and try again.   Let the plant soak in the water/soap mixture until it is semi moist and repeat with plain water.
