A visual way to learn spelling words
Using a dry erase marker, write your child's spelling words each week on the bathroom mirror. As your child masters each word, wipe the mirror clean. By the end of the week, the mirror should be free of words and your child will be a master speller. The bonus is that your mirror will be shiny and bright with little or no effort on your part.

Resist urge to ask what do you do for a living
When you first meet someone resist the urge to ask "what do you do for a living?" Get to know the person as themselves and let that information naturally fall into the conversation. That way you don't make assumptions regarding a career and you possibly could save embarrassment over some answers you might receive as well.

How to keep kids busy and content in fitting rooms
Bring some dry erase markers with you and let them draw on the fitting room mirror. It keeps them entertained while you try on your clothes and their art is easily erased with a tissue or baby wipe.

How to use pennies to track what you eat
If you have trouble keeping track of what you are eating every day, then use pennies. Divide your daily number of calories by 100 and that would be the number of pennies you need. Make a "menu" of items you commonly eat and their "cost": 1 penny for 100 calories (round the calories to the nearest 100). 1400 calories per day would be 14 pennies. A 200 calorie serving of chocolate would be 2 pennies. When your pennies are gone, you are done eating for the day!

How to keep your garage organized
Place peg boards on the walls and have him organize and hang tools where he wants them, then outline them with a marker. If he lays any tools around and you don't know where to put them, just look for the outline on the peg board. Leaves more floor space in the garage and helps minimize lost/misplaced tools.

Ensure your teen makes it home by curfew
Tired of having to wait up until your teen comes home to make sure they made it by curfew? Relax, go to bed, they will if you follow this tip. Make sure they have keys to get in the house. Set an alarm clock to the curfew time and place it where you can hear it if it goes off. Warn your teen that he/she must get home in time to turn it off BEFORE it sounds. If you are awakened by the alarm clock - they obviously didn't make it home on time. Works like a charm.

How to stop kids complaining at dinner time
You know the old saying, "you can't please everyone." Especially when it comes to meal time. At least one of our children would complain about the menu or how the food was prepared. My husband made a rule that the first one to complain had to clear the table and wash dishes. In just a few days I was the best cook on the block, according to the praise heaped on by the children.

Keeping track of donated items
If you're donating a box of items to a charitable organization, spread the items out on a large surface (like your driveway) and snap a few photos of the items for accounting purposes. It's a great way to keep track of what you have donated.

Perfect gift for new and expecting moms
Eat. Sleep. Poop. Splash. These are the clever box titles you can give to new and expecting moms as a gift. Each box has all the appropriate "gear" for that topic. I love the Poop Box. It contains all the essential items for a diaper bag. This company is fun! Prices are great, too. Visit Baby Treasure Box.
