What to do when you get pulled over by cops
You see the red and blues. Your heart is pounding, but stay calm to avoid unnecessary suspicion. Also, keep your hands on the steering wheel, so they can always see them. Remember, if they 'ask' to search your vehicle, that means they probably do not have ‘probable cause’ to search, and you have the right to decline. If you aren't sure if they’re 'asking' or 'ordering', ask them to clarify. Just be civil.

Keep your car trash free
You can help keep the trash out of your car by emptying out the trash every time you fill your car up at the gas station. I use the side pocket on my car door for trash and every time I fill up, I empty it out! You can also just keep a plastic grocery bag and dump the bag when you fill up.

Check tire pressure monthly
Buy an air pressure gauge and make a monthly habit of checking the air pressure in your tires. Properly inflated tires increase gas mileage by about 3 percent, and according to Bridgestone Europe, improperly inflated tires cause an additional 12.3 million tons of CO2 to be released every year—just in Europe! Because tires can lose pressure as temperatures drop, check the pressure when your tires are cold, ideally before you start your car in the morning.
